Diatomite (diatomaceous earth) for animals is a mineral anti-caking addition to food and at the same time an excellent source of bio-absorbent silicon, and thanks to the unique spatial structure of diatoms, helps eliminate deposits, toxins and parasites from the animal's body...

Our diatomaceous earth for animals has an amorphous form and (unlike crystalline forms) it can be used as an anti-caking additive to feed and veterinary medicines.

Part of the diatomaceous shells metabolizes in the digestive tract of the animal, providing the body with biologically active orthosilicic acid, which is a natural source of available silicon and has beneficial health properties.

Improving the condition of animals, removing deposits in the intestines. The portion of the diatomite fed to the animal has negatively charged diatom shells, attracting positively charged toxic substances, such as: endotoxins, bacterial and drug residues, fungi, mold, pesticides and heavy metal cations; it binds them in the cylindrical structure of the armor and causes them to leave the digestive system together with the feces. Clean intestines make it possible to increase the assimilation of feed, as well as help in the fight against diarrhea, which enables proper weight gain.

Natural support for the fight against parasites. Diatoms are used in the prevention and control of internal and external parasites of domestic and farm animals, including poultry and other birds. The elimination of parasites consists in the physical (mechanical) destruction of their bodies and other forms and the prevention of reproduction.

The use of diatomaceous earth for animals significantly reduces the amount of flies and reduces the unpleasant odor of faeces.

Diatomite (diatomaceous earth) gives the animal many health benefits, thanks to the silicon (Si) supplement in the form of a bioavailable orthosilicic acid:

  • improving the condition of skin, fur and feathers: they become prettier and more shiny; the use of diatomite increases the content of Si in the connective tissue
  • less risk of injury, acceleration of wound healing, improvement of joint condition: Si supports the formation of collagen and improves the condition of the connective tissue – cartilage, tendons, ligaments, vascular system
  • improvement of bone fracture healing: Si plays an equally important role in forming and rebuilding skeletal calcium
  • less tendency to constipation or diarrhea: even in animals that were drug resistant
  • improving the productivity of laying hens and the quality of eggs
  • improving the condition of animals

Diatomaceous earth for animals as an anti-caking agent used for feeds. Feeds for farm animals contain substances such as molasses, which cause the viscosity of the particles. Because of this, the food is clumped up and moldy. Diatomite added to the food encloses every particle of food and prevents clumping, thus preventing spoilage or fuzziness. This means less feed losses. Also thanks to the separation of molecules, animal digestive enzymes can better surround every particle. It means better digestibility of feed. The animal gains greater benefit from food intake, and the farmer earns more from his activity.

An animal fed with food with the addition of an appropriate amount of diatomite is not affected by parasites and toxic chemicals, with the maximum reliance on food and water consumed. Due to the above factors, veterinary costs can be significantly reduced.

Diatomaceous earth as a product of completely natural origin, at the same time safe, showing no toxic effects on animals and the environment, is a valuable feed additive for farm animals, including poultry. It is the source of an important element, which is silicon in the form of silica, necessary for the proper functioning of the bird organism and formation of bones in young animals. In the conducted research, it was also found that this additive also possesses antiparasitic properties, which is why it can be an alternative to synthetic drugs and preparations, especially on organic farms. In addition, as shown by the studies, diatomaceous earth is also a very good absorbent that reduces the effect of aflatoxin. Such a multidimensional beneficial effect of this supplement on poultry means that in the future it may be used more widely, also in intensive farming.

Usage

The daily dose of diatoms taken depends on the animal and its weight. It is usually advisable to use diatomite in an amount of 2% by weight of the feed / feed administered to the animal. For simplicity, we give the approximate dosage below: dawkowanie:

  • kittens – ½ teaspoons (1.5 g)
  • cats – 1 teaspoon (3 g)
  • puppies – from ½ to 1 teaspoon (1.5 – 3 g)
  • dogs weighing less than 16 kg – 1 teaspoon (3 g)
  • dogs weighing between 16 and 45 kg – 1 tablespoon (5 g)
  • dogs weighing over 45 kg – 2 tablespoons (10 g)
  • horses – from ½ to 1 cup (100-200 g)
  • cattle, dairy cows, goats and sheep – 2% of dry matter of feed
  • birds, poultry, hens, chickens – 2% of the dry matter of feed

Recommendations and precautions

Avoid long-term inhalation of high concentrations of the product, as this may lead to irritation of the respiratory system. Wear a face mask (or take care) especially if you have problems with your lungs and respiratory system or if you have asthma. Do not allow the product to get into your eyes, as they may cause dryness. Never use crystalline diatoms or those without a veterinary number. It can cause damage to your pets.

Natural diatoms as a food additive can not be used as a substitute for a varied diet. Food additives are not a substitute for a balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. Do not exceed the recommended dose for consumption during the day. The traditional use of diatomite as a food additive does not ensure the desired results in one hundred percent.

Diatomaceous earth for animals does not replace the diagnosis of any health problems or diseases without consulting the competent veterinarian. If you are administering your pet, contact your veterinarian before using diatomite to consult any interactions with the medicines you are taking. Contact a veterinarian also if you have doubts about the use of the product.produktu.
